Ghost Players

INVITATION TO ALL GHOSTS

Shannon Kishel-Roche, Executive Director, Chisholm Area Chamber of Commerce sent the following invitation:
"The Chisholm Area Chamber of Commerce would like to WELCOME all Ghost Players to attend our newest community festival, Doc Moonlight Graham Days. Scheduled for August 11th-14th, 2011. We are currently working on events at the Minnesota Discovery Center and the Minnesota Museum of Mining as well as a parade down Chisholm’s own Lake Street. We are hoping that Ghost Players would be able to participate in the parade, attend functions at both museums and play in an exhibition game against The Chisholm All Stars. The exhibition game would be just for fun. We look forward to hearing from you."
Guys, if you are interested in coming to play or watch, please let us know. We are checking into the cost of renting a bus so this might be a fun idea for a family vacation too. Please email Joe at joe@ghostplayer.us if you want more details.

SEDONA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL -- HERE WE COME!

Ghost Players

The new year brought word that our movie, GHOST PLAYER about the lovable and loyal ball players, has been invited to be shown as a finalist in the next Sedona International Film Festival. The great people at Kids First! recommended GHOSTPLAYER to the organizers of the SIFF and we were happy to accept Sedona's invitation.

GOOD HEARTED GHOST

Ghost Players

In spite of having recently suffered a severe back injury, Ghost Player Dan Davis is still ready and able to help promote a good cause for others. He's recovering nicely from a 20 foot fall from a defective tree stand while bow hunting. He's grateful to be up and back to work and realizes his situation could be much worse. He was hoping we could get out the word about a project honoring the life of Treyton Kilar . He was a 6 year old kid from Whitewater, WI who was killed by a drunk driver in a car crash last fall. He was a baseball nut and his parents hoped to be able to have a base ball field created in his name. They were seeking funding through the Pepsi Refresh Project. They came in 3rd for vote getting and so didn't get funding this round. It looks like they maybe eligible for consideration in April. In the mean time, take a look at the Pepsi Refresh Project website and vote for other worthy projects. As of the beginning of February,  there have been 736 potential Pepsi Refresh Projects that have wanted to create a field of dreams of their own. We hope it happens.

THE BELL TOLLS FOR THEE

Ghost Players

Later this year the bell to the US Navy ship the USS Dubuque will ring out one last doleful peal. It will signal the end of service for the ship which has helped to defend freedom for more than 40 years. The Ghost Players had the good fortune to tour the ship and perform for the naval personnel and their families during their first two trips to Japan. Now up on Youtube is footage of the Ghost Players visiting the USS Dubuque while in Japan  that is not in the documentary GHOST PLAYER.

The ship has served during all major conflicts from Vietnam, through both Gulf Wars, and last year took part in the rescue
