DocMiami 2011 International Film Festival
Hooray! The documentary has been selected for another film-festival! That's right, Ghost Player: Relive the Magic will be heading to Miami this month! It will screen on Sept. 25 at 5:40pm at the CYPRESS - Doral Golf Resort & Spa 4400 NW 87th Avenue, Doral, FL 33178.
Joe and Shari Scherrman will be jetting off to the DocMiami International Film Festival later this month on September 23-25. Joe and Shari are excited as long-time friend and Ghost Player, Curtis Mack will be suiting up and joining them at the festival. Should be a great time for all.
Ghost Player: Relive the Magic has been nominated for the category Most Entertaining Film. The other nominated films in this category are Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone and Go There Once, Be There Twice. That's quite an honor.
The DocMiami International Film Festival "is dedicated to promoting the best that documentary film making has to offer worldwide. They seek to provide film makers a forum which promotes their unique contributions to the evolution of the cultural arts within South Florida and within the entertainment industry as a whole."
There be incredible international documentaries and performers, Javier Batiz "The Godfather of Mexican Blues" and Tito Puente, Jr. will showcase their talents for the benefit of the children of Tanzania during DocMiami 2011.

Photo: Joe Scherrman, Curtis Mack, and Ron (Hank) Lucas while celebrating in Cooperstown, NY at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in September of 2009. The fact that the movie has been screened/honored in more than 15 other film festivals since the Cooperstown event is an uncommon feat in filmmaking, yet filmmaker Joe Scherrman attributes it to the compelling and inspiring story of the Ghost Players themselves.
