Cedar Rapids Independent Filmmakers Announce Film Festival Award Winners!
The Cedar Rapids Independent Filmmakers held their Tenth Annual Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival on Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10 at the Collins Road Theatres in Marion, Iowa. The festival showcased the work of filmmakers from across the state and around the country. In accordance with the CRIFM's stated mission, all the films screened featured stories or filmmakers with strong connections to the Hawkeye State.
Festival co-founder Scott Chrisman became wistful when asked to reflect on the event's landmark anniversary. "What I love the most is that after ten years we've really helped create and nurture a community. The festival has become a nice touchstone for those we've welcomed into this crazy extended family over the years," Chrisman said.
