$27,300 Funding Awards Announced
The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD) has been notified of award funding in the amount of $18,000 for the project titled: Historical Preservation of the Iowa Legends: Ghost Players/Field of Dreams. Joe Scherrman, director of DreamCatcher Production L.L.C. Dyersville, IA is spearheading the project with CFGD as Fiscal Sponsor.
Nancy Van Milligen, President and CEO of The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD) announce, "The CFGD is proud to partner with Joe Scherrman and his film production company in preserving the history of the Field of Dreams. As a partner, the community foundation has agreed to accept gifts, acknowledge gifts and serve as the back office during the fundraising for this project. Currently, we also manage a $10,000 endowment for Mr. Scherrman and other benefactors of this mission."
"This is a great boost," says Joe Scherrman director of DreamCatcher Production. "It’s great to be funded, in part, by the grant from the Iowa Community Cultural Grant, it means a lot." (The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs administers the program.)
Joe Scherrman of DreamCatcher Production L.L.C. is pleased to announce the Iowa Department of Economic Development has awarded $9,300 financial assistance. The Targeted Industries Intern Program (TIIP) granted funds for 3 interns.
"We're accepting applications now," director Joe Scherrman states. "Working with film and video production will be fun and educational for the interns."
Internships require 32 hours per week at $15 per hour. Positions start June 2nd and run through August 9th 2008. Students must be within two years of graduation and enrolled at one of NE Iowa's community colleges, private college or regent institutions.
